Facilitator Levels
The program mirrors the Hierarchy of Competence, helping both clients and facilitators find their match:
- 🟢 Level 1 – Apprentice Facilitator: Ideal for Founders who are novices. Uses structured curriculum and worksheets—“paint-by-numbers” clarity. Helps you know what questions to ask and points you to existing resources. May not have deep outpost experience but can guide you through exercises reliably.
- 🟡 Level 2 – Journeyman Facilitator: Personally experienced in outpost living. Helps you move beyond theory, offering tested insight and practical models. Can adapt the curriculum to your context and walk with you into deeper implementation. Especially helpful for overcoming paralysis or confusion in the middle stages of planning.
- 🔴 Level 3 – Specialist Facilitator: Advanced practitioners, often with years of experience and leadership roles. Brings functional depth in areas like: Governance models, Community culture formation, Conflict navigation, Missional entrepreneurship. Ideal for larger, multi-family outposts or those entering complex formation phases.
What Is an Outpost Facilitator?
A Facilitator is not a director or decision-maker—they are a spiritual and strategic companion. Their role is to:
- Help you clarify why you’re building an outpost.
- Guide you through the Inventory Assessment (what’s in your hands, heads, and hearts).
- Help set realistic expectations when working with others.
- Ensure biblical vision and mission-centered unity remain the focus.
- Navigate the fragile early phase of outpost formation where breakdowns often occur.
“Facilitators are not there to control—but to hold space for clarity, ensure spiritual focus, and help the group surface what God is already doing in their midst.”
This is especially vital when multiple founders or families come together. Vision alone is not enough—relationships, roles, and rhythms must align.
